Badia di Pomaio is a restored ancient monastery of the 17th century. Located on top of a panoramic hill, it is 5 km (3 miles) from the historic centre of Arezzo.
The 17 rooms, comfortable and quiet, are different one from each other and keep the ancient atmosphere boasting wood beams, antique furniture and stone walls. Nonetheless, they are all fitted with modern facilities and equipment. The hotel is the ideal location for a relaxing and quiet stay.
In the summertime, the tiny internal square and its ancient loggia become an al fresco restaurant, providing an amazing view on the surrounding valley. In winter the atmosphere gets even cosier, with the warm fire-place in the dining room and the peculiar cellar situated in an ancient cave. The hotel also features a splendid swimming pool, located on a natural terrace with open view of the town; it is a spot where you can relax, have a drink or read a book in a peaceful surrounding.

The hotel's restaurant serves local traditional food renewed by the hotel's chef and supported by a remarkable selection of local and national wines.
The buffet breakfast is served between 8.00 and 10.00 The restaurant is open every day. It serves lunch between 12.30 to 14.30 and dinner between 19.30 and 21.30. The restaurant has disabled access. |

The beautiful Alpe di Poti surrounds the hotel. Guests can make excursions there and visit, at short distance, the famous international horse centre and a golf ground. They also can attend the cooking courses organised by the hotel.
The Hotel Badia di Pomaio is a perfect starting for visiting the beauties of our Etruscan town, such as the Piero della Francesca frescoes, The Christ painted by Cimabue, the Vasari Loggias and the famous Antique Fair that takes place on the first weekend of every month. |

By Car:
From the A1 Milano–Roma motorway:
- Head towards Arezzo. Hotel Badia di Pomaio is 19 km from the Arezzo toll-booth.
- Follow the signs for Arezzo (connecting- road) for approximately 8 km until you reach the traffic lights at the end of the connecting- road.
- Go past the underpass and keep to the left, following the signs for Bibbiena- SS 71 (Ipercoop).
- Continue straight on past the mall and take the 2nd exit at the roundabout.
- At the nest roundabout, turn right at the first exit and continue until you reach the traffic lights, where you should turn left.
- Go straight on, passing under the arches of the ancient Romanesque aqueduct and past the Modern Cemetery.
- When you reach the crossroads, you should turn left. At the traffic-lights, turn left again and continue until you see the signs for Pomaio-Poti-Mulinelli (Badia di Pomaio) on the left-hand side of the road.
- Drive up an asphalt road for approximately 4 km, following the signs for Badia di Pomaio.
- The whole route is through woods. |
